Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Tbilisi

The Tour begins when your plane lands at Shota Rustaveli Tbilisi International Airport in Tbilisi. Our representative will be there to greet you. We will start our tour by visiting Holy Trinity Cathedral of Tbilisi known as Sameba Cathedral. Sameba is considered as the main orthodox cathedral of Georgia. Then, depending on the time of your arrival at Tbilisi, we can next visit the Georgian National Museum (optional). This museum is located near the popular Liberty Square in the central avenue in Tbilisi called the Rustaveli Avenue.
After having lunch, we will be exploring the paved narrow streets of the Old Town district. After passing by the little cafes and souvenir shops, we will reach Sioni Cathedral. After visiting this Medieval Georgian church, we will walk to the Clock Tower. This unusual leaning Clock Tower was built by a famous puppeteers named Rezo Gabriadze. Rezo used the pieces of the structures in the Old Town that were destroyed by the earthquake to build this clock. On the hour, an angel statue comes out of the window above the clock and strikes the bell. Below the clock, a screen showcases a theater of the circle of life.
We will then walk to the steel and glass Bridge of Peace. From there, by getting on a Cable car, we will get to the Fortress of Narikala. This ancient fortress, built on a hill, overlooks the city and the Mother of Georgia statue. On our way down the hill, we will make a stop at Legvtakhevi Waterfall. Also, we will be visiting the only mosque of Tbilisi known as Tbilisi Mosque. Continuing our walk, we will come across Sulfur Bathhouses which source from Tbilisi’s hot springs. Before making our way to Best Western Tbilisi Art Hotel, we will be visiting Metekhi Church. This church is a domed Georgian Orthodox church which is located on a cliff, overlooking Kura River.(Overnight in Tbilisi)

Day 2: Tbilisi - Mtskheta – Ananuri - Kazbegi

On the second day, we will leave Tbilisi to Kazbegi. On our way to Kazbegi, we will be visiting some of the must-see sights of Georgia. First, we will be passing through the former capital of Georgia, Mtskheta. On the eastern side of this historic city, we will be visiting the Jvari Monastery. This UNESCO recognized and 6th century Monastery is built on a hill at the confluence of two rivers. We will be enjoying the beautiful view of Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers. When these two rivers merge, each of the rivers still keeps its own color. Next, we will be visiting the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral. This 11th century UNESCO site is famous for holding the mantles of Christ and the Prophet Elijah.
To continue our trip, we will make a stop at Jinvali Water Reservoir where we can enjoy the view of the turquoise-colored water between the hills. Then, we will head to the nearby medieval Ananuri Fortress that overlooks the Aragvi River. Next, we will make our way to Kazbegi to spend the night at Porta Caucasia Kazbegi Hotel.(Overnight in Kazbegi)

Day 3: Kazbegi – Gudari - Gori – Tbilisi

On this day, we will we will make our way to Gudari where we will be visiting the Russian-Georgia Friendship Monument. While we are there, you can also do activities such as Horseback Riding, Paragliding, and so on. Then, we will head to the cave city of Uplistsikhe. We will be exploring Uplistsikhe Caves and its rock-cut structures and houses. This city is known to be one of the oldest urban settlements in Georgia. We will then visit the Stalin House Museum in Gori, where the leader of Soviet Union was born. The museum holds a collection of Stalin’s personal items, his railroad car, and other reminiscent of his childhood and adolescence. We will head back to Tbilisi to spend the night at Best Western Tbilisi Art Hotel.(Overnight in Tbilisi)

Day 4: Tbilisi – Sighnaghi - Tsinandali - Tbilisi

On the fourth day, we will head to one of the most important wine regions of Georgia known as Kakheti region. After some wine tasting and visiting the winemaking factories, we will make our way to Sighnagi. This city is famous as the city of love where marriage registry offices are open 24/7. Then, we will visit Bodbe St. Nino Convent which is one of the significant pilgrimage sites in Georgia. Next, we will visit Pheasant’s Tears winery where we will be tasting a variety of Georgian Wines. Also, we can see the process of winemaking that is done by ancient Georgian techniques.
After having lunch, we will head to the historical Tsinandali Village to visit Chavchavadze House Museum. This House Museum, in the heart of a French-styled garden, showcases the belongings of Chavchavadze family. Alexander Chavchavadze is known as the father of Georgian Romanticism and an important military figure. In case the group desires, we will be also visiting Shumi Winery. We will head back to Tbilisi by taking the picturesque forest highway of Gombori Pass. We will be spending the night at Best Western Tbilisi Art Hotel in Tbilisi. (Overnight in Tbilisi)

Day 5: Departure

Depending on the time of your International flight whether at midnight or early in the morning, we will take you to Rustaveli Tbilisi International Airport where our tour will come to an end.
