Local Food & Signature Dishes of Kerman

The signature dishes of Kerman consist of a range of different Stews which are called Abgoosht in Persian. These stews are mostly spiced with a special Kermani spice called Zire which translates as Cumin. Handicraft & Souvenirs

The city of Kerman is considered as the largest carpet-exporting center of Iran. Since about the 16th century, Kerman’s sophisticated Vase and Garden designed carpets have gained much fame. What makes these carpets different from other Persian carpets is that they are Triple or Double-Warped Carpets. Also, there is asymmetrical knotting on high-graded cotton warps. Woolen, silk, or cotton wefts are then used in between these warps.
